You have finished setting up the range extender that you purchased from Netgear, right? You are now all ready to connect your personal computer, laptop, Vizio smart TV, gaming console, smartphone, and other electronic devices to the extended WiFi network provided by the Netgear extender! If that’s the case, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Using this step-by-step tutorial, you will be shown how to easily connect your Vizio TV to the WiFi network provided by the Netgear extender. So let’s get started:
Follow the instructions that are listed below in order to connect your Vizio TV to the WiFi of your Netgear range extender:
1. To switch on your Vizio TV, use the remote control and select the Power button. You can also turn on your Vizio TV by pressing the Power button that is situated on the front of the device.
2. After turning on your Vizio TV, use the remote to access the menu by pressing the button labelled “Menu.”
3. The Menu button can be found directly below the Power button on most devices.
4. The menu for the Vizio TV will appear on the side of the screen that is on the left.
5. Now, press the Network option using the up and down arrow keys that are located on your remote control.
6. After that, you need to press the Ok button, which can be found in the middle of the arrow keys.
7. Wait for the Vizio TV to finish scanning the immediate area for active WiFi networks after it has taken a few moments.
8. You can select the extender’s WiFi network, such as Netgear ext, by navigating the TV’s remote control’s up and down arrow buttons (by default).
9. Tap the OK button once you have chosen the WiFi network that will be extended by the Netgear extender.
10. On the screen of your Vizio TV, you should now see a virtual keyboard where you may input the network password for your Netgear extender.
11. To continue, click the OK button.
After you have entered the password for the network that the Netgear extender is a part of, use the arrow keys to select the Connect option.
Using the Vizio remote, access the menu by pressing the Menu button, then navigate to Network > Manual Setup > DHCP. If the DHCP service is currently disabled, you can enable it by pressing the right arrow button. If it is already turned on, you can turn it off by pressing the right arrow once, and then pressing it again will turn it back on. Restarting the network, modem, and TV should fix the issue.
Perform a power reset on your modem and router.
Remove the power cable from your modem and router, then wait approximately one minute after doing so. Make sure that your modem and router are both turned on once you have reconnected the power cable to them. Please wait until the device has finished connecting to both the internet and your network before continuing. Carry out the diagnosis of the network.
You might want to try connecting to another network. Turn on the hotspot function on your phone, and then navigate to the network settings menu on your Smart TV to connect to the network you just created. If the Smart TV is able to connect to the Internet through other networks, the problem most likely lies with the router or the Internet connection itself and not the Smart TV.
Testing the wireless network without the computer or laptop is the first step you should take in troubleshooting the issue. Test it out with a smartphone or tablet or any other device that can connect to WiFi. If the other device is able to connect to your WiFi, then the issue is with your laptop. If the laptop or other device is an older model, it is possible that it does not support the most recent wireless encryption (WPA2).
How to locate an SSID on an Android device: Navigate to the Settings > Wi-Fi menu. An SSID to which you are currently connected will be displayed above. Connected.
